I know, Andrew, Sr,that as a culinary exeprt, you probably outshine me because you know that I mostly cook the comfort food I was raised on, as were you, but I had to chuckle over your OLD yeast. You can’t begin to imagine how much old yeast I have thrown out over the last 40 years or so! That is rule #1 when it comes to baking with yeast MAKE SURE that the expiration date is very FAR away. always the farther away the better!!!! Please don’t let one attempt discourage you just go buy the very newest yeast you can find and try again. I know you will succeed!! A certain Aunt Puddin & I were discussing your Grandmother’s baking of bread (other than her sourdough) and recalling the first slice out of the oven with REAL butter, cough,as we used in the OLD days, cough it was to die for!!!!!!
