Antibiotics, probiotics and Salicylates

FAQIn general, antibiotics are a chemical and will not block your Guaifenesin, unless there is something added, which is not common, but just make sure to read all the ingredients 🙂

Pre-guai, I used to really stress about taking antibiotics because I was needing them SO often that I worried how that was adding to my health issues. I had a standing order at the hospital for them so I didn’t have to bother my doctor for a script every time. CRAZY! Now I rarely ever need them so it’s just no biggie when I have to run to the doc and get some. It’s been over a year since I’ve needed them, thanks to the Guaifenesin Protocol! 🙂

Probiotics are also not a plant oil, gel or extract and will not block. Do check the complete list of ingredients however, to be sure nothing else is added in there like cranberry fruit extract which is a Salicylate and will block.

Here’s a Probiotic that I take and is sal-free: Natural Factors Multi Probiotic

These are some common sal-free Probiotics:

B. bifidum
L Acidophilus
L Plantarum
L Rhamnosus
L Helveticus
S Thermophilus

Dr St Amand suggests taking probiotics with your antibiotics if you have any problem with yeast or IBS.

And I personally don’t get any yeast problems now that I am on the Hypoglycemia Diet 🙂

i’m shocked that you can take this probiotic because of these ingredients: Maltodextrin, vegetarian capsule (carbohydrate [cellulose], purified water), fructooligosaccharides (FOS), inulin, vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant)
