Calling all Low Dose, Fast Responders…

Hello there!!!

Being a low dose fast responder for the Guaifenesin Protocol means that my body needs very little of the Guaifenesin and I FEEL it, ALL THE TIME. I am only one of the 20%. The rest of people on the Protocol, use at least twice as much Guaifenesin and cycle more gently and slowly, and have better days long before I do. This can be a great discouragement to me.

BUT! On the other hand, when I am done cycling, I will be WELL. There is no gentle ebb and flow of cycling for me. It’s constant and it’s relentless. Until it’s over. Ahhh, for that day!!

Things are really improving, and it’s hard to see that when the fatigue is still strong enough to keep me from any exercise, lest I overdo it and end up in bed for a day or 2.(this happened when I tried walking for 5 mins straight on my treadmill.)

For instance, I had a friend over who is a really close friend, we’ve sat and talked for hours and hours at least weekly. Well, today she mentioned a trip she took for a year and I was SHOCKED that I hadn’t heard this story before. How embarrassing. Yes, she’s TOLD me the story before, but I was too tired and spaced out with fibrofog to take it in! I TOOK IT IN today! I even asked questions and had so much fun hearing her stories!

Are YOU a low dose, fast responder? I have made a Facebook Group for us. It’s real unique, check out the name (and link): Low Dose Fast Responders on the Guaifenesin Protocol πŸ™‚Β  It’s SO helpful to have folks that get it, with fibro and also with the Guaifenesin Protocol. This group is for US! πŸ˜€

Come on over, say hello and tell me where your from and how long you’ve been on the protocol!

Check out my updates on how it’s going on the protocol: About me and the Guaifenesin Protocol

Hi Christine! I just want to say I wish we could sit and have a cup of tea…well maybe not tea. :-). You know me from the FB page. I am in my 2nd month. I think I am a low doser. I just asked to join your low doser group, which I just saw! Yay! I am kind of, no, I am really stressing out about not being mapped. I am so confused about the right dosage, I mean I have read what others say, but you can never really be sure. I just couldn’t bare going through all of this and finding out I wasn’t clearing as you did. I am 60 and feel I have lost the last 15-20 years of my life to this awful condition. Sorry, I am ranting. Crying really. You had no idea, right? Is there anything I can do, other than journal, which I am doing, that will insure my recovery? I just feel so unsure of everything. Thanks. Not such a lovely comment, huh?

oh gosh hun! It is so overwhelming at first, just the change of all the products to sal-free ones, and the overwhelming hope mixed with fear based on years of failed attempts to get well. Hang in there, it really DOES get less overwhelming!! Big hugs! Know that you aren’t alone in all this <3

I totally hear you about losing so many years, I did too, although I am not 60! I DO actually always encourage people to try and make that trip just ONCE to see a trained mapper. Finding your dose is the most important part and a trained mapper will totally help you to have more confidence. If you can at all scrape your money together for one trip, it is SO WORTH IT. Not sure where you live and where would be the cheapest to go, but my mapper only charges $30 and will give you a full hour consult and is SUCH a sweetie! She answers emails too, so once you meet her and she maps you and helps you find your dose, after that, you just gotta not change anything! lol! πŸ™‚

But, the first thing you gotta do is get started and be CRAZY careful about your products. Go through my posts on finding sal-free products, meticulously going through each step. Once you think you found your dose, that is when you make your apt to be mapped, and they can tell you if you got it right. If you absolutely can't find a way to scrape some money together, don't let stress bog you down. Stress will make you feel worse!!! You CAN do this without a mapper, many do and clear just fine, there is just the odd one that can't seem to find their dose. Are you on any meds? that would make a difference with your dose. And keep in touch! That is KEY to getting this right. Ask tons of questions and share updates regularly on the group or here, so we can help and give some advice. You can also post all your product ingredient pictures on our Facebook group and someone will confirm if they are sal-free or not. This is just the beginning stage for you, it's not always going to be like this!

Hang in there!!! and big hugs!

You are so sweet. I didn’t want to post on FB and share my fears. I hope you don’t mind. I have spent a couple of months going through my products. I am just the kind of person that needs to know for sure or I will always wonder. Where are you? I am in North Carolina. I’ve asked if there was anyone in the area, but no one knew of anyone. Do you? I am willing to drive. I hate flying, especially with the recent terrorist attacks going on in our country, but I am open.

Christine, thanks so much for having this site! I think I may be a low doser. I am 57, always been healthy and active up to two years ago. I was a grade one teacher for 24 years. I was diagnosed with fibro last April, 2015. I have tried just about everything and recently found the protocol by accident and bought the book. I got my sal free products. I have a fabulous physio who read about mapping and she agreed, I got mapped and I see her again next week. I live in Canada , near vanc bc, I got guai from my pharmacy, got it checked out and others in Canada using same. I started 300 mg on May 4 , this will be my fourth week. I have experienced much more discomfort, many days and nights not much fun. So, if I am a low doser I will continue to feel this way, no cycling? Trying to stay positive. I will know more after next mapping, she is not trained but, the same person and very knowledgable about muscles. Thanks so much for being there!

Hi Robyn! Sorry it’s taken me a while to get back to you! Sometimes my notifications get lost in my email list!
wow, a grade 1 teacher, that requires a huge amount of energy! SO glad you found the protocol! I spent about $1000 a month trying every treatment out there, till I found the protocol! SO glad I did!

It does sound like you are a low doser, If your symptoms are worse on the guaifenesin than before, then that is your sign that it’s working and you are likely clearing! Did you get all your salicylate free products in order first? it’s hard, but it’s a GOOD thing! It means you will clear so fast!!

Being a low doser is hard work! And you need to think of it that way, your body is working super hard trying to get you well, so you will need to take a bit extra care of yourself. Have lots of epsom salt baths, rest when you need to, pace yourself!

How did your mapping go? and is your pharmacy in Victoria that you get your guai from? I have them make mine and ship to me in Dawson Creek πŸ™‚ it’s the best kind! πŸ™‚

Leave a lovely comment! I read and respond to all comments here and love to hear from you! <3
