Fibro Fog- forgetfulness and confusion

If you struggle with this, please know that you are NOT alone! I recently had a long list of comments from folks with Fibromyalgia who do struggle with this one, and they are SO FUNNY! Made me feel somewhat normal, just hearing them! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s the link, You need to be a member of our Fibro Buddies on Guaifenesin Support Group to see it ๐Ÿ™‚

Is this you? You are in a conversation with someone and mid sentence you get completely flummoxed and it’s like your brain just took a little siesta and you have NO Idea what you were just talking about. How to save face? Laugh about it! Tell your person that you just ‘lost your train of thought’ most people get that! ๐Ÿ™‚

I know my fibro fog is bad when I can’t remember to LOOK at my daytimer to see what I am forgetting! It starts to clear and I remember to both write things down and check it!

I am known for calling friends and asking them to call me a few minutes before an event I really don’t want to miss! It works too! ha!

This WILL get better and better as time goes on while you stick to the Guaifenesin Protocol. Just hang in there!

  1. Fibro fog is funny, so it’s actually my family’s favorite of my crazy symptoms. Ok, it’s the only one they don’t hate. Same thing, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ One time I went to the grocery store with my kids and nephew who were 2, 4, and 5 at the time. I got a cart full of ice cream and refrigerator stuff and when I got back to the parking space my car was GONE! I walked up and down the lot for half an hour thinking maybe I parked it somewhere else. Nope. Finally I called my husband, close to tears, the kids covered in the ice cream I didn’t want to waste, to tell him that someone had stolen our car! We just had the one car so my husband left work to take the bus to where we were. I told the kids we were going to hang out until daddy came and we figured everything out. My 6 year old autistic son said, “Ok mommy, but can I get my transformer in the car?”
    And he pointed to it.
Hahaha! I called my husband back and told him we were ok. The robbers just moved our car all the way across the lot to the one section I didn’t check because I KNEW I hadn’t parked there. I ruined a cart load of groceries, (that the store could have just taken to their walk in fridge) but I learned to ask my kids where we parked or take pictures on my phone if I’m by myself. ๐Ÿ™‚

Dirty clothes often times end up in the trash instead of the laundry basket! Doh!

My fibro fog is referee to as the Bermuda Triangle. I thought I was the only one who lives there but have been finding out there is a lot of residents. Things often lost. My keys. Now there is a double set to all my keys and I am a cleaning lady so that is a lot. I even have 4 sets of truck keys and believe or not I had a day I lost all 4. Then my cell phone really has a sick sense of humor. I can’t find it anywhere. Not my purse not my room I mean no where. So I go around screaming for someone to call me so I can find it. I hear it close right behind me. Nothing. Wait it is behind me again. Nothing. Then to make sure everyone gets a good laugh at me it jumps into my pocket just as my daughter says Mom not again. Did you forget to check your pocket?
