This Steamer recipe is mostly for those of us who can’t have tea or hot chocolate or coffee… I know, sounds TERRIBLE doesn’t it?! Well, I sure miss that warm drink, esp during the cold days! This here is so soothing and warming and DELICIOUS! You don’t have to go to Starbucks to enjoy a fabulous hot drink at home!
EASY PEASY too!! Ok, here goes:
~Fill mug with milk, dump in pot on high till boiling (you will need to watch, it does boil over!)
~1/2 tsp sweetener or to taste.
~Add 1 tsp flavor (Vanilla, or Almond, or Maple, or Rum, or Butter, or Cinnamon, or artificial chocolate (Watkins sells this) OR, you can just get those sugar free flavor shots from a coffee shop like Starbucks! SO yummy!! skip the extra sweetener if using this!
~Pour back into mug. I have one of those pots with a lip for pouring. If you slowly pour from higher, it creates alot of foam on top- Mmmm YUM! 😀 (Still need to take a pic of this next time to show you!)
Tip: My gas stove will not burn the milk on high, but I still don’t want to stir it. If stirred, the cooked on milk at the bottom clumps up and you will have yucky clumps in the bottom of your cup. I just get in too big a hurry 😛 My friend cooks it on Medium, and it takes longer, and we have to stir it alot. You choose!
Tip: This is Hypoglycemia Diet Liberal due to the milk. I always use homo milk, it has the least amount of sugar. The more fat content, the less sugar.
Tip: OR if you are too tired to stand over the stove, pop your milk in the microwave for a couple minutes till just before boiling over. Takes me 2.30 mins in my microwave. You will have a skim of cream on top you will want to scoop out, the whipped Cream helps with that when you are drinking it 🙂
