Juicing and Salicylates

Salicylate 4Most of us do juicing because we are trying to get EXTRA nutrients from the fruits and veggies that we CAN NOT get by just eating it. So that makes it not a normal food amount.

It is for the sole purpose of concentrating plant stuff so  you get more than you normally would with just eating that fruit/veggies. That makes the concentration of Salicylate too much for our bodies to digest out. The point is for it to effect us. In this concentration, that amount of Salicylate WILL block you.

Please note, juicing is not the same thing as having a glass of juice, that is usually quite watered down and would cost an arm and a leg if it was truly ‘juiced’ 🙂

Besides, Guaifenesin is doing what all the juicing in the world cannot do for your fibromyalgia- getting you WELL again!! Just hang in there, the protocol works and will get you better, just be patient! <3

So do you think juicing asparagus would block? I’m trying to get more folate because of the MTHFR mutation but now I’m noticing I’m having trouble sleeping again. :/

Hi Christie! 🙂 Yes, juicing will block your guaifenesin from working to reverse your fibro symptoms! Juicing concentrates plant ingredients including the salicylates. Can you not just take some Folate supplements? Maybe talk to your dr about this and some options. Elizabeth Alice at fbog might have some ideas for you too <3

Thank you so much for the response. I was only juicing a little bit of asparagus and yet I think it was blocking me since I started having bad insomnia again! Will go back to just eating it, haha. And ill look into those supplements. Thank you:)

yep, some of us are much more sensitive to sals than others too. ALways best to err on the side of caution when it comes to this protocol. Let me know what your dr says about it!
