Hello my friends!
Is life totally a blur right now, with all the parties, dinners, decorating, gift buying, traveling, packing, wrapping, baking?
Why don’t you take a minute? Deep breath in, long slow breath out. Do that 3 times. Are you scoffing at me because you simply don’t have time for this silly stuff?
If you are too busy to breathe 3 times, it’s time to slow down my friend. Just sayin’. <3
Grab a cup of cocoa or coffee or steamer, something warm and soothing and sit and stare at the wall. Seriously. Do nothing, don’t plan to work anything out during your stare time. Just let your mind wander where ever it wants to. (Keep it PG my friends :D) This lowers blood pressure and gives you a minute to think about what is the most important.
What IS the most important?
Is it friends? Material stuff? Baking till you drop dead? Family? LOOOOOVE? (as Hallmark teaches us.) Or belief? (again, TV would tell us belief in Santa is the most important.)
This season is so very full. Our lives get so busy, our brains are smoking trying to come up with the best dessert, the most exciting gifts, the best decorations, and how to have enough time to do EVERYTHING. Not to mention having to warm up the car 15 minutes early before going anywhere!! 😀
Love! Love is so important. And I’m not talking about the kind of love TV tells us is the most important. Not romantic love or love for Santa Clause.
Love covers a multitude of sins, the Bible says. SO, wondering what is most important? Look to the Bible for answers. If we have time to love God daily in time spent with Him, our other activities will line up in order of importance. God will guide us in this.
Jesus tells us that the whole law and commandments is summed up in this:
- Love God (with all your heart, soul and mind)
- Love people (more than yourself)
So if you are wondering how to prioritize, ask yourself, “is it to make me look good (best cooking, best decorated, best gift) or is it best for others, best for God?”
This season is called Christmas for a reason, CHRIST is the reason for Christmas. Do you know Jesus Christ?
Jesus, who is God, made himself human. He came to earth as a dependent and needy baby. We celebrate His birthday on Christmas. He chose to live a life of limitations as a human. Amazing isn’t it?
THAT is what CHRISTmas is about.
Do you believe? No, not asking if you believe in Santa, I’m asking if you believe in Jesus Christ. THAT is the most important thing… for all eternity. <3 Merry CHRISTMAS my friends! <3
