I couldn’t decide between Jello Pudding and just the ‘Pudding made with Gelatin’ name lol! If you are following me on here, you have seen my many attempts at coming up with a Pudding recipe that I like and that works with Gelatin! THIS recipe however, will astonish you with how wonderful and creamy it turns out! LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe!! 😀
This one isn’t Custard- there’s no eggs in there this time. I am sick with a sore throat and looking for easy jello but can’t have juice since it’s so high in sugar. Milk and cream though- that I can have! 🙂 Num Num!! 🙂
In separate 4 cup Pyrex measure:
- 1/2 cup cold milk
- 1 Tbsp plain Gelatin powder (found mine at the local Health Food Store) sprinkled on top. After a couple minutes, stir in.
Let set while heating next pot. This allows the Gelatin to ‘bloom’, which is a fancy way of saying to absorb moisture. This will keeps lumps out of your finished pudding. 🙂 If you are looking for the Chocolate pudding version, scroll down for tips 🙂
into small pot, stir till steaming hot and almost boiling:
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup unwhipped whipping cream
- 1/4 cup xylitol
- 2 packages Splenda
- 1/2 tsp seasalt
Once hot, turn off burner.
Gently stir Gelatin and milk mixture.
Pour Hot milk into Pyrex with the gelatin and milk. Stir in 2 tsp vanilla. Stir well.
Pour in bowl and refrigerate about 2 hours or until set.
Make it taste like rice pudding with a sprinkle of cinammon on top. Great for the Autumn season. Serve with fresh berries or finely grate some chocolate onto the top if you aren’t HG 🙂
Make it fancy, pour into tea cups for a beautiful serving dish 🙂
Chocolate Pudding made with Gelatin- Try this out with cocoa- Stir about 1/4 cup + a couple Tbsp cocoa into the milk and cream while heating. (I like mine to taste more dark chocolate type flavor, so use a little more cocoa :))
