Soybean Sunscreen (Salicylate Free)

sunscreenSPF 20 Natural Sunscreen

Natural Sunscreen made from my Soybean Body lotions, so it’s natural, healthy and homemade as always!

Same ingredients as Original Soybean Lotion recipe, with Zinc and Optiphen Plus Preservative. Sunscreen is brought to the beach, often left in the sun, etc. It warranted a little extra protection from rancidity! But still so natural and healthy! Free of the long scary ingredients including being free of Parabens, Formaldehyde and Salicylates!

Ingredients: Distilled water, soybean oil, beeswax, RiceBran Oil,  Vitamin E,  oat protein,  e-wax, Lanolin Oil, fragrance, Optiphen Plus Preservative, Zinc Oxide,

Zinc Oxide is the ingredient I use to make a natural sunscreen. It is highly effective and personally tested. I used my homemade 20SPF sunscreen when I spent 2 hours in the sun on a lake, and you could TOTALLY see the burnt red spots where I didn’t use sunscreen!!
Here are my fragrance options:

I’m desperately looking for a sunscreen for my 3 year old who is allergic to salycilates, benzoates, amines, glutamates and riboneucleotides. We live in Queensland, Australia.

oh tracy! Sunscreen is SO hard to find! unfortunately I am having some business issues and have taken a leave from selling. But You can make your own sunscreen, just get your hands on some Zinc powder. Add it to your favorite body lotion in a percent basis.

So, if you want 20spf, use 20% zinc in your lotion. Careful stirring it in, it’s a very fine powder, and use gloves. You will also need a good scale to weight your lotion and zinc to get the right percentage.

I have made and used this and I can tell you, it WORKS!! Depending on how accurate your scale is, you could end up with a higher spf than you were expecting, at least in my experience! Good luck with it, keep in touch and let me know how it goes 🙂
