This has been a favorite for the summer! It’s thick like a Wendy’s Frosty, or like soft serve ice cream 🙂 It’s the best strawberry milkshake I have EVER had, even those restaurants that tout homemade shakes don’t taste as NUMMY as this! 😀 It’s thick and you can eat it with a spoon if you like, similar to soft serve ice cream! Make sure you have a GOOD blender though!! I go through a blender a year, just about! LOL 😀
During the winter I add a little water, about 1/2 cup and that keeps it from being a milkshake and freezing me to death when I’m already cold! haha! 😀
2 -3 raw eggs (or protein equivalent to make you feel full longer, or learn how to pasteurize your own eggs
2 Tbsp Whipping Cream (unwhipped) or 2 Tbsp Cream cheese (YUM!)
6 ish frozen strawberries (for Strict, other berries for lib)
1 tsp Xylitol (or equivalent sugar free healthy sweetener)
1/2 tsp vanilla flavor
Blend slowly at first to get all frozen stuff smooth, then on high till it moves freely, about 3 mins
Pour into LARGE plastic cup and serve with a spoon! 🙂
Tip for Winter: Use an additional 1/2 cup water to keep it from being a freezing cold ice cream smoothie. And top with whipped cream!
Tip: You can substitute raspberries for this recipe, or other tart-type fruit. Just use 1 or 2 more Tbsp of whipping cream, to taste 🙂
Tip: I have tried this as a blueberry recipe and it really dosn’t work! But you can use this recipe for cantaloup- it will have very little flavor, so add some extra flavors, I have done a Rum Flavor and a Butter Flavor from Watkins that is Delicious! I have done Caramel and vanilla, which is also YUMMY 🙂 Make sure you have some fruit- for the healthy sugars and carbs in there. Play around with it and fill me in on some of YOUR variations!
