Strawberry Shake- breakfast style (HG strict, GF, SF, Low Carb)

This has been a favorite for the summer! It’s thick like a Wendy’s Frosty, or like soft serve ice cream ๐Ÿ™‚ย  It’s the best strawberry milkshake I have EVER had, even those restaurants that tout homemade shakes don’t taste as NUMMY as this! ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s thick and you can eat it with a spoon if you like,ย  similar to soft serve ice cream! Make sure you have a GOOD blender though!! I go through a blender a year, just about! LOL ๐Ÿ˜€

During the winter I add a little water, about 1/2 cup and that keeps it from being a milkshake and freezing me to death when I’m already cold! haha! ๐Ÿ˜€


2 -3 raw eggs (or protein equivalent to make you feel full longer, or learn how to pasteurize your own eggs

2 Tbsp Whipping Cream (unwhipped) or 2 Tbsp Cream cheese (YUM!)

6 ish frozen strawberries (for Strict, other berries for lib)

1 tsp Xylitol (or equivalent sugar free healthy sweetener)

1/2 tsp vanilla flavor

Blend slowly at first to get all frozen stuff smooth, then on high till it moves freely, about 3 mins

Pour into LARGE plastic cup and serve with a spoon! ๐Ÿ™‚

Tip for Winter: Use an additional 1/2 cup water to keep it from being a freezing cold ice cream smoothie. And top with whipped cream!

Tip: You can substitute raspberries for this recipe, or other tart-type fruit. Just use 1 or 2 more Tbsp of whipping cream, to taste ๐Ÿ™‚

Tip: I have tried this as a blueberry recipe and it really dosn’t work! But you can use this recipe for cantaloup- it will have very little flavor, so add some extra flavors, I have done a Rum Flavor and a Butter Flavor from Watkins that is Delicious! I have done Caramel and vanilla, which is also YUMMY ๐Ÿ™‚ Make sure you have some fruit- for the healthy sugars and carbs in there. Play around with it and fill me in on some of YOUR variations!

    You should buy a vitamix they last for years!! Can you taste the raw eggs? This sounds great I am just worried about not being able to stomach the raw eggs!

      My mom has one Joelle! She loves hers ๐Ÿ™‚ Mine is a mid-line one from Canadian Tire, love it and CHEAP! ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s lasted a couple years now, I’m just glad it’s not dying every couple months like my other ones did!

      Yep, the raw egg thing is a deterrent to lots of people! If you put enough tang and sweet in there you seriously don’t taste it though! At the worst, just toss if you don’t like it ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t usually tell people till they’re done their smoothie that there’s raw eggs in there and they can’t tell! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Just though I would add that my Grandson got the worst case of salmonella one Christmas from raw eggs…so be careful!

      oh gosh sorry I missed you comment! I’m not the most savvy web person lol! I totally agree! It is why I suggest for everyone to pasteurize those eggs before using them raw. Sorry you had to go through that, sounds awful! <3

    This is going to be my breakfast tomorrow. I raise my own hens so I am not too worried about salmonella. I did pasteurize a few just in case. I think for me it is a mind set thing. My mother never let us have raw eggs. That stuck in me, but I am tired of cooked eggs so this is worth a shot!

      haha! Yes I get tired of eggs too. We still get them for free from family, best eggs ever, but you can only do eggs so many ways lol! I hope you like the smoothie! Have you tried the egg nog one I posted? It’s great for a snack and uses up some eggs too ๐Ÿ˜€

      oh, and it’s always a good idea to pasteurize them if eating them raw, it’s not alot of work and gives peace of mind ๐Ÿ™‚
