Taking Mucinex for the Guaifenesin Protocol? Some things you need to know…

Guaifenesin Mucinex WalmartI am throwing alot at you right now. Don’t let it overwhelm you, you are not alone. SO many of our members have gone through exactly what you are experiencing right now. The beginning part is the most tricky. We’re here to help.

So the FA layer on the Mucinex can mimic clearing– which means that you FEEL like you’re clearing because of the increase in symptoms you are looking for, but it could be not enough guai and just moving around the phosphates, redepositing them, making you feel horrible for no good reason.

In one Mucinex tab, you get only 500mg LA and 100mg FA. For most people, you need 600mg LA twice a day to clear.

Another reason Mucinex is bad and Dr St Amand now says for everyone to only use MDR (If you’re not in Canada, we have our own guai up here.) Mucinex has blue dye, which Dr St Amand is seeing many people to slow down or stop clearing. Blue dye is bad, it interferes with ATP production, which you need for your body to be able to clear.

See this post for more on Guais: http://christinescozycorner.ca/types-of-guaifenesin-for-the-protocol/

sooo to start the Guaifenesin protocol, you need to start with 300mg twice a day for a week. Use your symptom journal to see if your symptoms INCREASE, this is how you know the guai is beginning to clear your phosphates.

Here’s what I suggest, knowing these things. I suggest you Order the MDR/ Fibropharmacy guai 300mg. While you are waiting for it to come, go off the Mucinex. give your body a chance to get back to ‘normal’ before you start the MDR guai. Give yourself at least a week off the Mucinex before starting the MDR. You need to have a baseline of sorts, so you know what to compare the new symptoms with. So do your symptom journal the whole time. Don’t stop!

If you would like more personal help through the process, join our Facebook Group called Fibro Buddies on the Guaifenesin Protocol. We let in new members once a week, in the meantime, do some reading, there is a ton of info on my site and you can find lots more info on Fibromyalgia Treatment Center too πŸ™‚

Those are my thoughts for those of you on Mucinex. Please don’t let this discourage you. like I said, many, many people start on Mucinex and have to stop for a week or 2 and start back up on the MDR. These couple weeks of backtracking are going to be made up quickly once you start clearing! You clear 6x faster than you deposit! YAY for that! πŸ™‚ Hang in there!!

Bought expensive mucinex and have about 80 left should I continue. It has certainly help with clearing chest and post nasal drip.

Hi Heather! πŸ™‚ If you are taking guaifenesin for the guaifenesin Protocol, in order to reverse your fibro symptoms, then based on all the info in this post, it would be a good idea to stop the Mucinex for a week and re-start on another brand. I am glad to hear that is has helped your chest and post nasal drip! That is what Guaifenesin is used for when you aren’t on the guaifenesin protocol πŸ™‚

I personally would never risk using any medication with blue dye for any reason unless it’s life or death. Blue dye makes you even more tired than you already are, and we all need more energy, not less! but there must be some people out there who don’t struggle with fatigue who could buy your Mucinex off you? It IS good for chest, sinus and colds.
