FAQ of the Guaifenesin Protocol and Salicylates

Frequently Asked Questions for the Guaifenesin Protocol for FibromyalgiaThis post is for people on the Guaifenesin Protocol to reverse their Fibromyalgia. Salicylates block the effect of the Guaifenesin from working, and we must be diligent in staying away from too much of them. Foods are fine but oil, gel and extract with a plant name, on your skin, along with camph, menth and sal in any ingredient is TOO much salicylate! UNLESS it is one of these: CROWS: Corn Rice, Oat, Wheat, Soy.

So, here is where I list my posts on these items. What is the Guaifenesin Protocol? Check out my: explanation and Audio!

  1. What about red wine vinegar…does it block? thx

  2. Cora says:

    Does cinnamon block?

    • Christine says:

Hi Cora! : ) That depends what you’re doing with it! If it’s a plant oil, gel or extract, then yes! If it’s a flavor in gum or toothpaste, then yes! They often have mint hidden in the flavor ingredient. You can trust Cleure or Andrea Rose only.

If you are using it as a spice in food, that’s fine, but as a supplement, concentrated in pill form or large amounts, then it will block. hope that helps! πŸ™‚

  3. Cora (again!) says:

how about MSM? Does the supplement block Guai?

    • Christine says:

MSM is Methylsulfonylmethane, which is a chemical. However, if you are taking it in a supplement with other concentrated plant ingredients, than it can block, so make sure to read the ingredient list of the bottle you are taking πŸ™‚

  4. Devon says:

My fiancee just started the protocol, shes on her second day, and accidently had some mint chocolate. How long will it take till these salicates are out of her body and the guai can start taking effect?

    • Christine says:

Hi Devon! You are a great support to her it sounds like! Good for you! I totally did that on the 3rd day I think it was! Not mint, I think it was tea or something. It’s SO normal, as you get used to being so cautious. But reassure her that this will get to be her new normal soon! It really does get easier and you don’t miss blockers after a while because you just know the bad they do to you and your progress! <3

It's only about 24 hours to get it out of her system. Make sure she continues to take the guai though! Some people do not block as easily as others and she might continue to clear!

  5. Rachel Beran says:

THANK YOU, thank you! I am just starting the guai protocol…and your blog has been incredibly helpful already. Wow! So relieved to find this help. Thank you for taking the time to share your story and to bless others (including me). Said a prayer for you this morning.

    • Christine says:

Hi Rachel! So glad to hear you are starting on the road to better health!! YAY! πŸ™‚ And so glad to help, people like you are why I put all this together! πŸ™‚
