    Hello again!
I’ve wanted to learn how to make soap and lotion from goat’s milk. Maybe this winter. I’ll spend more time here to learn a thing or two… or six… or however many zillions of things I need in order to learn! I’m really scared of working with lye.

Hello fibromom! 🙂 yes Lye is a little scary the first time, but it’s really not that big an issue. If you are going salicylate free, you will have trouble making a good soap that makes bubbles. I tried and it didn’t work. The oils that create that nice foam/bubbles is coconut oil and olive oil. We can’t have either oil on the guaifenesin protocol! This is why I ended up making soaps from the surfactant chemicals!

I REALLY tried, so many different recipes and variations of the oils that we can use on the protocol and it just never really worked. If you don’t mind having no bubbles, then you’ll be fine, but I like bubbles!! 🙂
